CBC Executive Board
Meeting Minutes
May 16, 2005
1 Attendance
The meeting was held at the downtown YMCA at 6:00 p.m.
There were not enough members present to
form a quorum for voting purposes. It was determined this meeting would serve
as a Board meeting.
2 Business
The meeting was
called to order by CBC President Jim Lemons. Welcome was extended, and
introductions were made.
George Perry, CBC Treasurer, reported that the CBC’s current bank balance is
$23,400.00.
The CBC spent $490.00
for the Christmas party and prizes and $255.55 for food and other misc. items.
3-State 3-Mountain Challenge
Congratulations and much thanks was extended to all involved in the 3 State 3
Mountain Event. All expectations were far exceeded. Particular recognition was
given to David Ward and Daisy Blanton for their colossal efforts.
Specifics were reviewed regarding expenses and contributions related to SAGs for
3-State. Use of funds collected exceeding the cost of the event will be
discussed once the dust settles and a cleared view of proceeds is gained.
3 Treasurer's Report
George Perry gave a brief Treasurers report. The current balance exceed
$58.000.00 at this time.
4 New Jersey Order
Amy French gave a report on the New Jersey order plans. Orders will be taken
through June 15th. Extras will be ordered (an exact number to be
determined later) to have on hand for new and old members who did not order.
5 Event Accidents
Lengthy discussion took place regarding the two riders injured during the 3State
Event. The primary objective was to preserve the insurance policy and assure
any benefits available to the injured riders are secured. Contact will be made
with the Insurance Company to assure they have all needed information and that
protocol is followed by CBC.
In response to numerous inquiries, a Motion was mad to contact the family of
Terry Trecartin to identify their preferred method for setting up an Assistance
Fund. Many CBC members and concerned individuals have expressed the desire to
offer financial assistance. The motion was unanimously passed. Jim Lemons
agreed to make contact with the family.
A
Motion was also put forth to initiate contact with an attorney to assure all
circumstances relating to the above-mentioned accidents be handled in the best
interest of the Chattanooga Bicycle Club. David Blackwell agreed to follow up
on this.
With no additional business to attend to, the meeting was adjourned.
Respectfully submitted,
Amy French
CBC Secretary
