May 17, 2004

The meeting was held at China Lee restaurant.  Steve Strain, CBC President, called the meeting to order.

2 Business

Bylaws Committee Appointment

The appointment of a committee to update the bylaws was announced.

Roads for Trails Ride Proposal

A “Roads for Trails” ride was proposed by Steve to help raise funds for trail building.  This would be a road ride, followed by a cookout. A small fee would be assessed each participant, with proceeds going to the trail Fund.  This will be pursued further in the coming weeks.

Treasurer's Report

George Perry, Treasurer, reported the 3St3Mtn event produced enough income to cover expenses, and to allow for contributions to Bethel Bible Village as planned.  Details will be available once all the numbers are in.

Communications Director's Report

Daisy Blanton, Communications Director, gave a report on Bike to Work, and encouraged CBC participation.  Volunteers were encouraged for Bike Rodeo.  An Afghan/Throw was shown.  Members were invited to place orders.

Ride Coordinator's Report

Ride Coordinator Jim Johnson gave a report on ride development.  Historic rides, beginner rides, and other types of rides will be developed.   Members were encouraged to volunteer as ride leaders.

Membership Coordinator's Report

Tom Ingledew, Membership coordinator, announced he is preparing a New Member letter to welcome newcomers.

CBC/SORBA Dissolvement

Tim Carlfeldt, Vice President of Mountain Biking, announced his resignation.  He stated he wishes to separate the CBC/SORBA chapter from CBC and establish an independent chapter.  Input was given by several members (both opposed and in favor).  A vote of members present was taken and the motion to dissolve the current CBC/SORBA Chapter was passed.  CBC will continue to be involved in mountain biking activities.  Current members of SORBA through CBC membership will remain SORBA members.  Those interested in establishing a new SORBA chapter independent of CBC are free to pursue this.

With no further Business to discuss, the meeting was adjourned.

Respectfully submitted,
