CBC General Meeting Minutes
August 16, 2004
1 Call to Order
The
meeting took place on Monday, August 16, 2004 at the Chattanooga Downtown YMCA.
CBC
President Steve Strain called the meeting to order. The June 2004 Meeting
Minutes were read and approved. There was no Old Business to discuss.
2 Business
Events Coordinator Report
David
Ward, Events Coordinator, gave a report on the recent Bethel Picnic. It was a
great success and appreciation was expressed to all who participated. David
also reported on the upcoming Sequatchie Valley Century (October 2, 2004). This
event benefits the Marion County Food bank. Club members were encouraged to
participate by volunteering or riding.
Mr.
Ward also reported the 2005 3 State # Mountain event is well on course.
New Club Jersey
The
new Club Jersey Design was voted on. Plans will be set in motion to follow up
on this. The possibility of a re-order for the old club Jersey design was
discussed. If enough interest is expressed this, too will be pursued.
Ride Director Report
Ride
Director Jim Johnson gave a brief presentation on a proposed Spring 2005
European tour, to be coordinated through his Bike Tours Direct Company. It was
determined this will not be an official CBC Event, but will be endorsed by the
Club.
A
joint event with the Harpeth Valley Bicycle Club is planned for the 1st
weekend in November. Members were encouraged to volunteer or participate.
Communications Director Report
Daisy
Blanton, Communications Director announced that members now have the option of
withholding personal contact information on the Application, and for the
upcoming Directory. The Tailwind will provide further information on this.
Ms.
Blanton also reported on upcoming events in coordination with Bicycle Task
Force. Details will be forthcoming.
Hand Cycling for the disabled
Martin
Penny announced the Chattanooga Parks and Recreation Department will be
promoting hand cycling for the disabled in an upcoming event to be held
September 25th at the Chickamauga Battlefield. A call for volunteers
was made.
With
no further business to discuss the meeting was adjourned.
