Ocoee Fat Tire Festival

Camping

The camping field between the parking area and the picnic tables at the Chilhowee Recreation Area on top of Chilhowee Mountain will be the festival headquarters. It will be reserved for the festival and for group camping. Campsites in the field are $12. You will pay for your own campsite and are responsible for following all the regulations. Parking for two cars is included with each campsite. There is a limit of 5 people per campsite. We need to get as many people per campsite as we can to be able to fit everyone. Any cars that do not have a campsite pass will need a day use pass. Carpooling is encouraged. It would be a good idea to contact Daisy Blanton to reserve space for you if you want to camp in the field. I will combine as I see fit. Please read the Forest Service rules. They are enforced!

The Chilhowee Campground at the Recreation Area will be available for camping at the event site. Areas A and B have been remodeled recently and are really nice.   Area C,D,E and F are still quite nice but older. The camping fee is $12 per site per night in C,D,E, and F. Sites A and B are $15 and $17. All camping except in the field above is to be handled outside of the Festival.

Food will be available on site for Saturday thru Sunday morning. Friday night there will be a discount available for a meal at the Wildwater Steak and Deli, which is the closest restaurant, or just do your own thing.

The Parksville campground on Hwy 30 at the bottom of the mountain will be available also, but sites are limited. Additional camping is available at Thunder Rock Campground which is across the dam off to the right shortly before you get to the Whitewater Center. This is simi-primitive camping.
