Harrison Bay State Park Trail
Thanks to Brian Bergenback for this map of the trail at Harrison Bay
State Park.
Trail Description: Twisty and fun are the adjectives that come to mind after riding this
trail. It is a wonderful beginner trail but plenty of fun for the experienced rider. It is
around 4.3 miles long and can be ridden multiple times.
Location:
Harrison Bay State Park
Highlights: The
view of the lake is spectacular - most of the trail follows along the bank of Chickamauga
Lake (sometimes a little closer than you would like). There are no long climbs but
definitely a few short steep ones. Lots of twists and turns. Do watch for muddy sections.
Parts of the trail can really be a mess after a freeze or a really rainy period.
There is a $3 fee per visit. Wednesdays are
FREE. A yearly pass is available.
Directions: To
get to the trail head go east on Hwy 58 from Hwy 153. Continue past the turn to Booker T
Washington soon after the main business district. When you cross over a section of the
lake, look for the sign to Harrison Bay State Park. Take an immediate left. Follow the
signs into the park and to the marina. Go to the parking area around to the left past the
marina. The trail starts at the right side of this lot.
This is a multi-use trail. Please respect
the rights of other trail users and follow IMBA's rules of the trail. Always
yield the trail to other users.
