KNOBBY NOTES
By Bill Rogers
March 2000
It may be a little premature, but it appears that spring is upon us.
Maybe I'm being too optimistic, but hopefully great riding weather is here to stay for
awhile. Of course, this time of year also means it's time to put the finishing touches on
our own Ocoee Fat Tire Festival.
After a series of meetings, we have made several changes and additions
to our format. All the changes will be detailed when the flyers are mailed out, but here
are some of the highlights:
1) More meals - including lunch and dinner and a pancake cook-off
Sunday morning
2) New games
3) A "Poker Run" Sunday morning-each person collects a card
at a total of five different checkpoints. The person with the best hand wins.
4) Mountain Bike Clinic Tips and techniques for the beginning
mountain biker
The dates for this year's festival are April 28-30. With a little luck
we'll actually have everything ready by then. As always, volunteers are needed to make
this a success. Ride leaders, meal detail, registration, and more are needed so please
let's all pitch in.
